 1 Steel concept

Steel is pressure processed into ingot, billet or steel of the various shapes, sizes and properties we require.

2. Steel production methods

Most steel processing is by pressure processing, which causes plastic deformation of the steel being processed (billets, ingots, etc.). According to the different processing temperatures of steel, it can be divided into cold processing and hot processing. The main processing methods of steel are:

Rolling: A pressure machining method in which metal billets pass through a gap between a pair of rotating rollers (of various shapes). Due to the compression of the roller, the cross section of the material decreases and the length increases. This is the most common production method used to produce steel. It is mainly used for the production of profiles, plates and pipes. Divided into cold rolling and hot rolling.

Forging: Using the reciprocating impact of the forging hammer or the pressure of the press to change the blank into the shape and size we require a pressure processing method. Generally divided into free forging and die forging, they are often used to produce large materials and billets and other large cross-section materials.

Drawing: It is a processing method for drawing rolled metal billets (shaped, pipes, products, etc.). Reduced cross section and increased length are entered through die holes. Most of them are used for cold processing.

Extrusion: Metal is placed in a closed extrusion cylinder, one end of the pressure is applied, so that the metal is extruded from the specified die hole to obtain the same shape and size of the finished product processing method. Mainly used in the production of non-ferrous metal materials.
